Rhinish Safety early 2024
At Artemas, safety is a paramount concern for us. Our conception of safety encompasses a wide spectrum, encompassing the well-being, health, welfare, and environmental aspects. We have observed that the fundamental management philosophy adopted by an organization significantly shapes the behaviour of its members. This behaviour, in turn, forms the cornerstone of the organisational culture and plays a pivotal role in determining whether work is conducted safely.
Our Rhineland Security program is centred on examining the correlation between the organisation's work structure and the behaviour of its employees. The foundation of this program is rooted in the Rhineland management philosophy. In line with this philosophy, we aim to nurture expertise and promote the maximum possible autonomy among employees, thereby reinstating responsibility for safety to those directly involved. By doing so, we place direction and accountability where they rightfully belong: in the hands of the professionals on the shop floor, navigating the often unpredictable terrain of everyday work.
Furthermore, this approach hinges upon the prerequisite of ensuring social safety, which fosters an environment where individuals feel both willing and capable of expressing themselves. An additional imperative is that it is effectively organised, distinctly differentiating it from traditional management practices.

The program
We take you along in the program so that you can experience for yourself what organising Rijnlands is and what it means to you. You yourself will give meaning to what is happening in your organisation and between your own ears in a different way. The Rhineland Security learning program consists of a series of 3 x 2 days plus a company visit.

Block 1
What is it?
The initial segment is dedicated to delving into the principles of Rhineland organisation and understanding how it diverges from the more traditional Anglo-Saxon management approach.
During this initial phase, we will collectively explore the notion that each participant assigns their unique meaning to their experiences. We all carry our own set of beliefs and assumptions, which greatly influence our interpretation of events and actions. We will embark on a journey to uncover these underlying beliefs and assumptions, aiming to discover how one can view the present 'reality' through a different perspective.
In this section, Jaap Peters will conduct a Masterclass titled "Why Embrace Rhineland Organising." Jaap, a pioneer in the field of Rhineland organising, continues to actively contribute to its practical application.
Throughout the program, we will actively collaborate to form a cohesive learning group and examine a pressing issue of personal significance. This question will serve as your individual compass throughout the entire program, culminating in the Master's Test on the final day.
Block 2
What can you do with it?
The prevalent query often revolves around the demand for "concrete solutions." People often seek checklists, step-by-step plans, or the "five-step formula." However, our program's primary emphasis is on developing the skills needed to diminish this dependency. In a complex and unpredictable world, unexpected events are bound to occur because the future remains uncertain. Lists are suitable for predictable scenarios, but real-life incidents don't adhere to human-crafted procedures.
Furthermore, we will embark on a hike to practice multi-dimensional thinking (1, 2, and 3 dimensions). Through the lens of the "shared space" concept, we will explore the distinctions between complex and complicated issues. With the assistance of the Chaos Cross framework, we will collectively transition from conventional thinking and actions to innovative approaches. We will place the question "What can I do with it" alongside our challenging problem, seeking fresh perspectives and insights from different angles.
Block 3
What am I going to do with it myself?
Furthermore, we explore the history of safety through a series of real-life cases, examining how we perceive accidents from both Rhineland and Anglo-Saxon viewpoints.
Collaboratively, we will devise scenarios to envision practical applications within your own organization.
As a fitting conclusion, on the final afternoon, participants will undergo individual Master's Tests, overseen by our guest speakers and any invitees of your choice.
